The Filing Cabinet - A Vertical History of Information By C. Robertson
The offices of the Central Social Institution of Prague in 1937 contained the largest vertical letter file cabinets in the world, covering floor to ceiling with over 3000 drawers.
The drawers would open and close automatically, and a specially designed electric elevator would lift and drop operators to their desired drawers.
The documents are now digitized, but a physical form is needed in cases of police, court etc.
