rel: Spliced Book - Alternative Reading Methods

I was looking at this site on the web, in particular the explorer and the hub pages which list all of the writings for a particular period.

All the books read in 2025.

The question I have is how could I digitally simulate the concept of a book that has fallen off the shelf, and is no longer categorized or accessible, because it has wedged itself in such a way? It’s not noticed because of the excess.

The pages warp permanently, it becomes cobwebbed and dusty. Some sunlight falls and bleaches the exposed sections.

In a sense, I love something of these books. It’s not they aren’t wanted necessarily. It’s just they’ve fallen.

You often see them, or other objects of this type, in neglected storefronts as well, as you window watch and look into the displays. I’m sure menus and restaurant ephemera gets wedged between chairs, or whisked under cabinets.

What would be cool, is an index of them. Like occasionally an thought file slips from the collection and gets stuck, misplaced and lost It forms piles, strange accumulations of other works that change in their neglect.
