Concept: a group of scholars who defend this infinite library, brought up a bounty hunter but for esoteric book retrieval (past due date, stolen).
- A series of classes of these scholars
- The libarbarian sect
- Handling of fungus infecting pages, or outlining of creatures page (library bestiary with moths etc)
- Exploration of the deep stacks
- Settings, such as a sea that is constantly collapsing shelves like dominos
- There could be features of the land, such as this sea, that was composed of cascading books and shelves that stretch for leagues (I wonder what this sea might sound like? and would like to sit by it)
- orators - singers who hold within them oral history of books
- different sects of librarians with glasses that denote their clan type or various garbs
- gloves or pens
- colors of inks used or the materials of their writing
- graffiti
- their domains of knowledge
- inspired by this quote “breaks are always, and fatally reinscribed in an old cloth that must continually, interminably be redone”
- groups that are trying to preserve words of text
- scribes that continually write, dusk till dawn, copying texts
- engines that archive continually, producing reams of paper of the same page as preservation
- recording sites that keep track of sounds
- comprehensive records of book access and notes of all those who have entered into sections of the library
- adventures to find lost letters that were never sent.
- Just imagining tunneling through book space, like a mining operation. Emerge into small rooms dense with books. More stable sections.
- quite spaces, ultimately quiet
- rules for violation
- jailing for violation and the cells for holding those who made noise
- bestiary of
- moth types
- book worms
