I am working on that summary task at work. It has me thinking of this thought in a fanciful sense. These individuals, whom we are automatically transcribing, did not think of their words as being placed into text. True, they were aware they were being recorded.
But what of the world of the unrecorded. A full surveilled universe.
In the search for more data, all human word will be requested as recorded. Your words and language, previously only existing as brief things, are now a 1:1 record. It is all captured. Everything is a trace.
Small microphones are left in the woods (embedded in the bark of trees). They are piped to summarization engines that listen and describe what they hear. They describe the states of the ants in the trees.
Whispers no longer exist in personal isolation.
