Digital reading makes for aggressive note taking because it is so easy. But they can lose poignancy and the record becomes over recorded.
If I have a physical book, to copy my notes I have to bring myself to the keys or the paper to the page. I’ll be more critical of what I decide is necessary to preserve (at times, digital I’ll leap to copy simply by suspecting the importance of a section, often only to be disappointed.)
I do prioritize the write though. Even when reading a page, I’ll try to type the words and not just drag them to my notebook.
