Münchhausen trilemma
Baron Munchausen (in German, “Münchhausen”) pulling himself and the horse on which he was sitting out of a mire by his own hair
One must rely on
- a circle argument, presupposition of truth
- a regressive argument, each proof requiring further proof
- a dogmatic argument, rely on precepts asserted rather than defended
NOTE
I almost wrote truth and troof (becoming accustomed to writing proof)
This is a naive statement, but I had a note that I wrote that I am just returning to now. In the conceptual model of the Turing machine, what feeds the tape? Could it be the Baron pulling his own hair?
If the transition rules state a transition, is reading it Magic Action Words?
Self Rescue
It might be interesting to think of self rescue a bit more. Or the extent you can really save yourself, or be truly independent.
