There were simple moments that worked and felt really believable with the modern office romance, like the chat exchange and she sees his laughter and observing the ”… is typing”. Same with that initial icebreaker session and you can see her breaking a bit, and in the group setting he’s indirectly focusing on her “awkward silences”.

I love that style of private language. I’m really curious of the directorial instructions because a lot of her actions are really subtle, like the whispering and when to smile. That “inward smile” here.

When Daisy Ridley’s character spoke about 20 minutes in, I had to reflect and say to myself “did I just miss the fact that she hasn’t said a word this entire time?” - which wasn’t true but kind of reflected the style of communication going on.

My “slight” problem with the relationship wasn’t really wanting a hunk or a type of wish fulfilling me-surrogate. Maybe there’s some intention where he’s directly cutting into her veil of silence, almost immediately but aspects of it felt slightly inelegant. Really just a minor thing and probably me spinning it into something it doesn’t want to be. His backstory with some expired romances was kind of a cool spin.

I’ve definitely been guilty of those vague “how do you enter the SKU?” to broach conversation.
