I’ve seen this undercurrent of conversation where it’s positioned, naively STEM vs. Humanities – and that the lack of humanities education is the cause of this period of dystopic oligarchic control.
Mind you, even the tech products that are being foisted on us a replete with literary allusions (albeit, perhaps corruptions) such as Metaverse and Grok1
As someone who is passionate about learning, this seems inadequate and I am perplexed how far the argument will go – despite understanding why the thought seems justified.
But if I see it again, framed as a such a versus I’ll roll my eyes.

Ironically, this calls to mind “grok” which I’m sure you know is what is Elon’s chatbot (which is also a Heinlein reference that was adopted into nerd/computer culture) and it seems to have consequential offloading of the need for deep comprehension in many. ↩
