I spent over a day getting these scripts to build on a remote machine. There were a host of errors but I would say that most of it came from rooting out correct and compatible versions of sub-dependencies and quirks of the environment I was installing to.

After this I had documentation which I could provide and it would “just work.”

I thought how this process completely, dramatically hides the toil I felt. Also how it hid aspects of learning.

Someone could take the documentation and read it step by step, and install. And say “Oh, that was easy!” where to some extent I struggled, or at least had moments of confusion and uncertainty.

Not that this is a bad thing that there was a reduction in difficulty.

The same is said of me, I’m not the first on a chain here. All of these creators of the dependencies I was working to resolve had their own tasks, much more of a challenge than me who simply needs to make it run.

How do you make something easy?
