A movie where the sound of the movie is completely different from the visuals of the film. As if there are two films, or a type of error.

  • The mismatch in the senses will inform aspects of the visuals, making connections perhaps in a dramatic irony kind of way.
  • The two can also collide, in an irritating way.
  • This happened with me listening to a podcast in my feed with an editing error in it. A lot of podcasters will record audio separately for each speaker, then combine them. The podcasters did it wrong without noticing and there were 15 minute delays between speakers. This was very interesting to listen to. I initially realized because comments and laughter came at inappropriate times. There was also 15 minutes in the middle, of relative silence while we got audio from a speaker who didn’t speak. You just heard small bits of ambience and breathing. The occasional light chuckle to the void.
