What if you leave cool mysterious objects around? Spend part of your income on that. It shouldn’t be too expensive, but also something you would want or find interesting.
Such as a small amulet etc. An old ring.
A locket with a picture inside.
A pocket framed photo.
Rather than keep it, scatter these around. Leave them in a tree hole. Bury them in the yard.
Maybe the locket has a picture of the tree you hide it in, when the tree was full of life and leaves.1
You will lose it, but also it might gain worth in the story it tells beyond your involvement.
Someone comes upon it and wonders why. Their day is left with a bit more wonder and reverence.
