Could you make a “game” that would make for example, a retail store, fun?
We had augmented reality titles that worked as overlays to reality.
But I am trying to imagine some compelling gameplay, that would result in a person like me desiring to go out to the retail store and spend the day playing this game that reformulates the space where you shop. A player would literally wake up, in the way they might say “I’m going to play sports with my friends for the next couple of hours” but the game space is the retail space, where they will spend hours.
It must necessarily be some consumer-jamming entity, and not some product of the retail space or something that makes you want to spend money.
The retail space is so dense with symbols. It has a library-like aspect with the labels, collections and categorization. Organized data is present, like a system of programs.
I’m curious how retail spaces would adapt to this game, surges of players. Even better, the game could conceal itself. Despite being ultimately fun and compelling, the play of it might be hidden.
