Obvious, flagrant error could serve an evolutionary function. I feel this with app creation and in the darkest moments of software design I find solace in this thought.
Even given the most simplest of forms to submit and wildest incentives, you will get individuals who make a mistake.
You could make a button that says “press this button to submit the form,” devoid of any other kind of input or function, with explicit instruction to submit the form and some percentage of the population would fail to press the button correctly.
If this button press 99.9999% of the time innocuous, was tied to an orbital canon fixated on the user, this would be a problem.
So, the necessary disorder here keeps us alive, and keeps me employed.
