This thought made me laugh.
Ask to show someone something on your phone, but make it an extremely long thing. Like have an MP4 of The Lord of the Rings or some clip that is long and hint at possibly being interesting later on, teetering on the edge of surprise (“oh, I see now, and it’s worth it”).
Turn it on.
If you feel some reluctance, just gesture minutely to carry on in the sense “the best has yet to come…” or “wait for it…”
Even better if it’s someone you really don’t know to well, or are getting to know.
Even better if your battery is in the red, nearly out of juice but enough to secure ten minutes of anticipation. It could cut out and you say then crestfallen, “I’ll show you next time.”
